Cheaply made!

I ordered this yesterday (a Sunday) and it arrived today (Thanks Amazon prime!). When I got it, I went to install my own batteries (comes with 2 but prefer my duracell) I removed the cheap plastic cover and the WHOLE bottom of the scale came completely off! It's a thin piece of plastic 3 part frame, about the thickness of 2 drinking straws, with the 4 calibrated feet. That's it. It looks like it was just stuck on there with some type of press on sticky glue.Placing it on the level hardwood fIoor, I re-stuck the piece on the bottom figuring maybe it would stay once you put weight on it. I had to tap it firmly unlike my previous scale, it came to zero and I weighed myself 3 times and got 3 separate weights. I held an object weighing 6.7 pounds (my shipping scale is very accurate) and my weight only increased by 5 pounds.The Glass is very thin too. With such a weak base, I'm afraid if I were a heavier person, I would go right through it. Especially since you have to tap the thing quite hard to get it to come on to 0.0At that point I decided it wasn't even worth the $20 to keep it. picked up the scale and although the bottom stayed on, once I went to remove my batteries for return, the bottom came back off.I bought this because a previous Eat Smart scale I purchased back in 2011 is acting up now. It seemed to memorize your last weigh in and even though you lost a pound, it wont read that way unless I remove the batteries and "reset" it. Ain't nobody got time for that! It may not seem like a big deal of a pound off to some consumers, but for me and on a weight loss program, it totally boosts my confidence and helps keep me going, even if it's .06 difference I know I'm in the right direction.So I was looking for a non-expensive scale and ended up with a very poorly made product. So much for giving an item a chance. Reviews are everything. They always help me make the right choices so if you don't review, you should. The good and the bad. It helps all of us!

I get three different weights, about 8 lbs apart, when I weigh myself on the bathroom floor vs hardwood floor vs kitchen floor. The bathroom weight way lower than I think I am. What's the point of a scale if you don't know when to believe it?

It does what it's suppose to do

I am deployed, I ordered this scale 1, because of the low cost, 2, the scales in the gym are pretty busted... I honestly think that for the price the scale is excellent, and does what it's suppose to do calculate your weight... If you are having issues with the scale maybe it isn't the machine, but the operator... shrugs, who knows...
